Yoko Lance
DVA, B. Comm., B. Digital Media (Hons)
Yoko Lance is a photographer and a Doctor of Visual Arts based on the Gold Coast, Australia. Yoko grew up in Tokyo, and started her career as a writer for various magazines and books. Yoko migrated to Australia in 2001, and studied Bachelor of Communication at Griffith University, majoring in ‘Communication and Media study’ and ‘News and Magazine Photography’, extending her career as a photojournalist. Yoko also studied a Bachelor of Digital Media with Honours in ePhotojournalism at Queensland College of Art (QCA) Griffith University, and awarded for ‘Excellence in Research’. Yoko has completed her internship at the Gold Coast Bulletin, and currently working for the Nichigo Press, the largest and longest circulated Japanese newspaper in Australia. Yoko also won the Australian Postgraduate Awards scholarship, completed research in photography and autoethnography and awarded a Doctor of Visual Arts at QCA, Griffith University.
